Ethical & Environmental food sales conglomerate "Sambazon" goes digital to maximize profit and give back to the environment. Sambazon is one of the biggest health food fair trade companies in the USA. It was the 1st certified organic and fair-trade Açaí company in America. Sambazon is unique in selling açai (the most powerful superfood in the Amazon area). Açaís have been harvested by hand from the rainforest’s palm trees for centuries. This nutritional powerhouse has long been a staple of indigenous diets. Sambazon is unique in fair trade and is committed to the protection of rainforests and its indigenous people. Samabazon has effectively preserved over 200,000,000 acres( and counting) of the Amazon Rainforest by paying fair wages that directly support 30,000+ family-orientated farmers. Similarly, another ethically sound attribute of Sambazon is the 5% local reinvestment of açaí purchases which goes directly back into schools and hospitals.
The process of handling orders from the B2B/ B2C web shop, marketplaces, and big customers like Walmart, were still done manually. Sambazon had to increase the headcount of their inside sales /administration team from three to eight people in the last 3 years, just to manually process the orders (due to their exponential growth and succession). Consequently, this resulted in infractions on the company’s part that were significantly deteriorating their profit margins.

How Sambazon digitalized their working environment and maximized profits
By transporting water, air and other energy sources in a reliable, efficient and sustainable way, we do our part - for a better planet every day. That’s why we call ourselves ‘Natures Network’
Dyka Group is a business unit of the Tessenderlo Group, which consists of three brands; DYKA, BT Nyloplast and JDP. They are the leading producers and distributors of plastic pipe systems, sewage systems and rainwater infiltration among many other services. Dyka are represented on a national and international pedestal with 19 branches in the Netherlands (with over 500 employees) in addition to representatives in Belgium, France, UK, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia and Romania. By transporting water, air and other energy sources in a reliable, efficient and sustainable way, they do their bit, for a better planet every day, which therefore alludes to their nickname of “Natures Network”.
As Dyka is responsible for producing and distributing essential services that help the environment, they opted to integrate with Alumio to maximize market efficiency (through the integration of twenty-two web services) in terms of customers, gain increasing control of their stock, deliveries, and services as well as finance, logistics, HR, product planning and customer service, that would be potentially linked together into a single, customizable system, run on a database of Dyka’s choice.
By connecting Dyka’s ERP (SAP S4 Hana) to their e-commerce platform (Magento 2) twenty-two web services were delivered which are needed for full B2B Commerce so that they could achieve a real-time and 360-degree view of all the ongoing processes within their company. Essentially, Dyka can now take control of every aspect of their organizational structure which creates a seamlessly scalable IT landscape that is ready for digital success. Several specific Magento B2B are developed to deal with real-time information delivered from Alumio’s SAP API Connector, such as B2B prices, order simulation calls, ATP available to process stock information, and much more. Thus, everything is monitored to ensure real-time insights are enforced to contribute to an increasingly robust platform that serves our planet in sustainably innovative ways.

“The collaborative approach really sparked our interest at Pelican. Both Corra and Alumio approached the integration in a collaborative way, finding answers to our requirements - that gave us the confidence that this project would be a success”
Situated in California, United States, employing over 1400 employees, Pelican Products dares to exceed where others falter: the protection of what’s valuable. Pelican specializes in the design and manufacture of protective case solutions and advanced portable lighting systems, from coolers, phone cases, flashlights, and drinkware, to travel gear and even backpacks. While Pelican Products constantly develops innovative protective products to keep valuables protected from all environmental harm, they also take significant steps in their sustainability practices to prevent harming the environment. Devoting focus and resources to being sustainable, Pelican Products cases and lights are recyclable and produced to last a lifetime. To help integrate its e-commerce platform with its SAP ERP, Alumio was approached for having over 10 years of experience in creating ERP connectivity and for its unique Alumio SAP API Plugin.
Having initially connected their e-commerce platform built on Adobe Commerce with stand-alone accounting software, Pelican Products faced errors in both finance and inventory management. To tackle this issue and optimize their digital experience, they decided to integrate their e-commerce Platform to their ERP, i.e. SAP ECC, and brought on board Corra, a renowned system integrator in the United States. While researching the most effective way to create the e-commerce to ERP integration for Pelican Products, Corra encountered Alumio and decided that the Alumio iPaaS along with the powerful SAP API Plugin solution was the best option for them to create this integration.
In close collaboration, Alumio, Corra, and Pelican Products intensively approached the project to meticulously deliver the integration. Connecting an ERP like Pelican Products' SAP ECC with an e-commerce platform such as Adobe Commerce is far from easy since by default SAP lacks key B2B & B2C data points or web services required to effectively do so. Helping avoid what would usually be a long and expensive bespoke integration project, Alumio’s SAP API Plugin installed these needed web services, to enhance the integration capabilities of Pelican Product’s SAP ECC. After installing and configuring the SAP API Plugin, creating the full-blown Adobe Commerce to SAP ECC integration via Alumio’s no-code integration platform, or iPaaS, was significantly easier.
The integration running through Alumio’s iPaaS led to a more optimized and real-time e-commerce experience, giving Pelican Products centralized control over their data. Resulting in transparent and reliable inventory levels, now when an order is placed on the Pelican Products website, product availability and prices are in complete sync and up-to-date with the latest data available on the ERP, in real-time. Detailed product information, real-time insights, and stock management are just some of the many other benefits resulting from the integration. More importantly, a proper order process was created to ensure real-time delivery/shipping updates and to help process returns, significantly improving the digital commerce experience for Pelican Products.
In fact, having successfully established a seamless D2C channel for the US & Canada, Pelican Products decided to expand its digital operations in Europe from Spain. Utilizing the future-proof integration created by Alumio’s iPaaS, they are now working with a local system integrator to connect their EU e-commerce site to their SAP back office.

These different systems are linked together through a customizable system and run via a database of one's choice, while additionally allowing connections to customize third-party applications.
Alumio’s SAP API Plugin
Alumio’s SAP API Plugin is an exclusive solution, ensuring key B2B or B2C data points are installed into the default SAP ERP. On being installed, these data points help significantly improve the SAP’s ability to integrate with e-commerce, PIM, CRM or other software. Developed as a SAP-certified ABAP stack, Alumio’s API Plugin helps instantly provide data points that would otherwise take a significant amount of time and money to create. This reduces the time to market and additionally creates an improved ROI. Above all, it helps you create fast, flexible and future-proof integrations.

Frictionless customer experiences with the iPaaS
Creating the integration through Alumio’s cloud-based, no-code integration platform (iPaaS), Pelican Products saved a significant amount of time, effort, and money that would have needed to be invested in creating a bespoke point-to-point e-commerce to SAP integration. Besides resources being saved in the integration process, the seamless integration helped ensure a frictionless customer experience. Having set the stage for creating fast, flexible and future-proof integrations with Alumio, Pelican Products used the integration created through our iPaaS, to connect their EU e-commerce site to their SAP back office.
